A message from the Commandant General Royal Marines Lieutenant General Rob Magowan CB CBE.
“To return as your Commandant General is a terrific honour for me. Like us all, the Corps is in my blood and I feel immensely privileged, and humbled, to be taking the reins from Maj Gen Matt Holmes, who guided us to a very successful outcome following the recent Integrated Review. The Future Commando Force defines a hugely exciting journey for us, as we adapt and respond to the breadth of new threats.
The role of CGRM is changing – I will be fulfilling it at the same time as being Deputy Commander UK Strategic Command – but its influence and importance has not diminished. And as the First Sea Lord has made clear, it is a critical post which is here to stay.
With the Corps RSM, I will be getting out across the Corps family from next week. I really look forward to reacquainting myself with as many people as possible, not least as restrictions start to ease.”
