Mr Richard Weaver

Richard became a trustee of the Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund in 2013 and of the Royal Marines Charity following RMCTF’s merger with the C Group in late 2015. He is our representative on the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity Group finance, risk and audit committee.

After training in both corporate and not for profit sectors Richard became a Partner with Haysmacintyre in 2008, spending 5 years on the partnership Management Board and Audit Committee.

Richard is the head of the Charities and Not for Profit team and provides both external audit services and advisory consultancy services to their management teams within care, arts and culture organisations and independent schools. He sees his role as a key adviser for management and trustees to enable them to achieve their charitable objects and longer-term strategies.  Richard has a particular interest in governance and risk management processes, as well as improving financial systems, controls and management reporting.

Richard has also been actively involved in the training of the not for profit team and leads the external trustee training programme. Through the programme he enables charity trustees to benefit from training and sharing experiences with their peers in a cost-effective way.

Outside of his professional interests, Richard is an avid motorcycle fan and keen follower of British Superbikes, World Superbikes and Grand Prix. He also owns the rights to the Marshan brand of powerboats and competes in the offshore racing series with the Offshore Circuit Racing Drivers Association (OCRDA).
