To ensure that we are able to provide the highest quality of service to all of our beneficiaries, we work with a variety of charitable trusts and foundations that provide us with invaluable funding support. Some of the organisations that support us and that we work closely with are listed below.

Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust
We have been in receipt of a number of grants from the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust, including COVID-19 funding support and the provision of an RMA Branch Welfare Officer in Northern England and Scotland.
In addition to this, they have also agreed to fund the charity’s Norway Winter Deployment Programme in 2021 which has sadly had to be postponed due to the pandemic. This, when able to go ahead, will bring together both Royal Marine and Norwegian Armed Forces veterans, particularly those with mental or physical health issues, along with their families, to enhance resilience and aid their recovery pathway.
Veteran’s Foundation
The Veterans’ Foundation have approved a grant that will help us provide a Transition Support service in Scotland.
The grant is intended to fund a Transition Support Officer (TSO) based in Scotland which will allow the Charity to work with a closer proximity to The Royal Marines units in The Clyde and Arbroath. The grant will enable the Charity to support vulnerable veterans, medically or administratively compulsorily discharged from service to develop their skills and overcome barriers so they can secure employment and maintain independence.
Royal British Legion
The Royal British Legion have awarded us a grant that has contributed towards funding the construction of the Gordon Messenger Centre at Commando Training Centre Royal Marines in Lympstone, Devon.
The Gordon Messenger Centre is a multi-role facility which supports all members of the Corps family and acts as a focal point for Royal Marines in the region. The Centre has helped the charity provide a space where events that benefit the whole Royal Marines community can take place. These can range from heritage events through to peer support groups and careers fairs.
The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity
We have been in receipt of a number of grants from The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity as a key partner of our work, across several our delivery areas.
Gamesys Foundation
Gamesys Foundation have approved a grant that will help us provide Addiction and relapse prevention work and mental health support to our serving and Royal Marines Veterans throughout the United Kingdom.
The Gosling Foundation
The trustees of the Gosling Foundation have decided to award a grant of £35,000 to RMA – The Royal Marines Charity towards support for Vulnerable Service Leavers and Veterans Battling Mental Ill Health.
Swire Charitable Trust
Swire Charitable Trust has approved a grant towards indoor and outdoor furnishings for the new Gordon Messenger Centre in Lympstone for the Royal Marines Corps Family.
Naval Children’s Charity
The Naval Children’s Charity has approved a grant towards the funding of the external play equipment at the new Gordon Messenger Centre in Lympstone for the Royal Marines Corps Family.
Medlock Charitable Trust
The Medlock Charitable Trust have awarded us a grant for our Employment Programme Rapid Response Programme targeted towards those who have lost their job due to COVID-19 and for those across the South West.
Open Mental Health
Open Mental Health awarded a grant towards the ‘Lifting the Lid’ project supporting veterans to access treatment in Somerset. Open Mental Health is a Somerset alliance of local voluntary organisations, the NHS and social care.
The Balcombe Charitable Trust
The Balcombe Charitable Trust have awarded us with a grant that has allowed us to support the recovery of the most seriously ill Royal Marines that have been assigned to the Hasler Naval Service Recovery Centre at HMS Drake, Devonport, Plymouth.
Bathgate Charitable Trust
The Bathgate Charitable Trust awarded us with a grant in 2020 to specifically help the charity cover the costs incurred as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. This grant has allowed us to continue providing welfare support throughout the pandemic at a time when the Corps family, much like wider society, are facing unique challenges.
